Documentation

For 1994, the Superlight (MKIII) was upgraded with a return of the cast iron disc brakes, upgraded front forks and a stronger aluminum swingarm, along with other general differences shared with the stock 900ss. The 1994 Superlights still came with the numbered plate on the triple clamp. (Production total: 756 pieces). The air-cooled engine has a capacity of 904 CC. Furthermore, the four-stroke V-Twin Cylinder SOHC Desmodronic engine is equipped with two valves per cylinder. The power of 78 HP (57 kW) is delivered at 7,000 rpm. The torque is set at 84 Nm at 6,400 rpm. The engine had a dry weight of 182 Kg and (before that time) already achieved a top speed of approximately 221 Km/hr. The transmission takes place via a 6-speed gearbox that drives the rear wheel via a chain. For the rest, the bike is equipped with the Showa Upside-Down front fork, which has been widely used by Ducati since the early 1990s, and a double disc brake at the front and a single disc brake at the rear. This original Dutch delivered copy is in a higher price range than you might expect in advance. The cause lies in the condition of the engine in combination with the very low mileage of approx. 15,000 km! The former owner has had the engine very well maintained, which is clearly visible in the external condition of the engine. In addition to the original Ducati folder, all documents also include the so-called Owners Manual! In addition to the original exhausts, the motorcycle will also be delivered with an extra original set of Termignoni sports exhausts. These are included in the factory box and even the Termignoni stickers still to be applied are still on the exhausts with tape. As a Ducati collector, a Superlight cannot be missed. If you also consult the SL900 register, you can read that there are several people who own one or more Superlights, not everyone chooses to register their Superlight for various reasons. As you can see in this auction, there is always a very small group of enthusiasts who aim to have the entire series in their collection. However, this collecting goal is not really easy in practice, but has not become impossible with this auction. Runs, but cannot be started due to belts. Please refer to the general auction information for more information.
