The Zagato Zele is an experimental electric dwarf car produced by Zagato. While most models in Zagato’s fleet are elegant, luxury cars with a lot of horsepower, the Zele is quite the opposite: it is tall, small, spartan and had a very low top speed and range. The body is made of fiberglass to save weight The gears are controlled by a speed controller on the dashboard and a foot pedal. Together they move the vehicle forward at six different speeds and two backwards. The range is relatively limited at only 80 kilometers.
The Zele 2000 has an extra function. Once the car is up to top speed, a switch attenuates the motor’s magnetic fields. This generates less torque, which can result in a few kilometers more range.
