Documentation
This iconic Volkswagen was built in 1966 in Hanover (Germany) and was delivered via an Italian Volkswagen dealer on June 30, 1966 in Spoleto in the Province of Perugia (Umbria/Italy). This car came to its new owner in the Netherlands in 2004 via a car collector and was traded in 2014 on a new Volkswagen Golf. This T1 was restored for about € 25,000 at the time. The 1966 Volkswagen T1 offered here is in a driving condition. Volkswagen saw a future in the idea of VW importer Ben Pon when he sketched a practical van based on a Volkswagen Beetle and took the T1 Transporter (internally called Type 2, the Beetle was Type 1) into production. To this day, the van is an absolute cult object. This T1 looks neat both in terms of interior and exterior. Motorically and aesthetically, this bus is well put together.
