Documentation

This TVR 2500M was developed for the track, with a plastic body mounted on a rigid tubular frame to keep the weight down. Instead of the earlier TVRs that had relatively little power, the 2500M has a 2.5 liter six-cylinder from Triumph with 107 BHP in the US. This engine has 2 Zenith carburettors and 4 gears as standard. A top speed of 175 km/h was reached. A total of 2465 TVRs of the M series were built, of which 947 of the 2500M. This TVR 2500M is slightly different. Originally the car was silver-grey, the car was painted black by a previous owner. The car was ordered directly from the factory by the first owner and a number of changes were made. For example, 2 cooling fans have been placed behind the slanting radiator instead of one. These can be operated independently from the inside to maintain an optimum engine temperature. The engine regained its European power of 140 BHP and was equipped with 3 carburettors instead of the standard 2 Zenith's. The paint is generally good, with some paint damage around the rear lights. The chassis appears to be rust free and the body is undamaged. After a successful rally in Tuscany a few months ago, the car has been fully inspected technically. The pistons and piston rings have been checked and found to be in good condition. The head has been flattened and fitted with a new gasket. Many hoses and fixings have been replaced. The engine runs nicely with regular speed, the oil pressure is stable and the brakes work perfectly. The clutch is also excellent. The Yokohama tires are good (70%). The carpet of this TVR 2500M has been completely renewed. The driver's seat has been refilled. The rest of the interior is original with minor signs of wear. The Wasebo sliding roof works perfectly and opens easily. Due to the extra fan under the hood, the spare wheel has been moved to behind the front seats. All in all a beautiful and very good driving TVR 2500 M with a beautiful sound from the double exhaust. To get a good idea of the car, we advise you to come to one of the viewing days.
