The first Commander was built in the 1920s and was known for its reliability. In 1937 the Commander was the leader of the economic car line (formerly Dictator). After 1939 this model belonged to the middle class. After the Second World War, passenger cars and trucks were soon produced again. Unlike many other car brands, Studebaker designed completely new models such as the Starlight Coupé, the Hawk line and the latest version of the Commander.
