This Porsche 911E Targa "Sportomatic" was first admitted to traffic in 1974. The "E" in "911E" stands for "Einspritzer" or: fuel injection. At the time, it was a motorization from the middle of the 911 range. The birth certificate for this car tells us that this 911 still has the original engine and is therefore matching numbers. In this case, the six-cylinder boxer engine produces 165 hp and is linked to the rare "Sportomatic" semi-automatic. A very ingenious piece of technology that paved the way for the later Tiptronic and PDK. The Sportomatic is a 4-speed gearbox with a torque converter that is activated as soon as the lever is moved. So you do have to switch, but you don't have to link. The car is both optically and technically in good condition. The technology has recently been thoroughly overhauled by us. The entire suspension has been renewed, the Sportomatic has been overhauled, new brake discs have been fitted all around and the engine has been given a very extensive service. The costs for the total work amounted to almost € 10,000. Technically, the Porsche is more than “ready to go!”. The bodywork is also very neat. The sheet metal is tight and the fits are correct. The Targa roof fits well and the iconic Fuchs rims are also in good condition. The car has already been repainted in the original “Hellgelb” color for cosmetic reasons.
