This 500 E is in a neat, driving and completely original condition. It starts and drives well. The paint and interior look good overall. Between 1990 and 1994 (model years 1991-1994), Mercedes-Benz built 10,479 units of a high-performance version of the W124: the Mercedes-Benz 500 E (W124.036). The 500 E was developed in close collaboration with another major German car brand. Each 500 E was hand-built by Porsche, transporting it back and forth between the Mercedes factory and Porsche's Rossle-Bau factory in Zuffenhausen over 18 days. The 500 E had a naturally aspirated 5.0l V8 engine. It was nicknamed “Wolf in sheep's clothing” and that was certainly not undeserved: 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and impressive intermediate accelerations. The top speed was limited to 260 km/h.
