Documentation
The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL (W121) is a two-door luxury roadster produced by Mercedes-Benz between May 1955 and February 1963. Designated internally as W121 (BII or B2), it was first shown as a prototype at the 1954 New York Auto Show, and was available with an optional removable hardtop. The 190 SL was an attractive, more affordable alternative to the exclusive Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, with the same basic styling, engineering, detailing and fully independent suspension. Both cars had double wishbones at the front and swing axles at the rear. Instead of the expensive, purpose-built W198 tubular space frame of the 300 SL, the R121 structure of the 190 SL used a shortened unitary floorpan adapted from the W121 base saloon. This Mercedes 190 SL is in a running condition. This car has had a Dutch registration since 1961 and has only known 2 owners since then. Both the interior and exterior generally look neat. It is equipped with original Solex carburetors. There are booklets and several keys present. The car is exempt from MOT.
