Documentation

The car offered here is a nice T Ford convertible from 1927, so 1 of the last produced. It has a Dutch registration. The car is in user condition and is certainly not sleek, but according to many, this is the nicest condition to drive it like this. Currently the foot start switch is defective and therefore the starter motor will not turn. A new starter motor was installed last year. New parts for this Ford can be obtained well and cheaply at Histo parts. This T was driven 9 months ago, after that it has only been indoors. It is a 4 seater convertible that seems to have driven away from the Laurel and Hardy movies. To keep mass production efficient, Henry Ford is said to have said of this car, "You can buy it from us in any color, as long as it's black." This statement is in stark contrast to the truth: the car was available in several colors until 1914. Then Ford discovered that black dries the fastest of all colors. In recent years, with a declining demand, the car was again available in several colors. On May 26, 1927, the 15 millionth Ford T rolled out of the factory and on the same day it was announced that production would be discontinued. At the end of May, work actually came to a standstill and about 60,000 people in Detroit were out of work. The thousands of dealers in the country were no longer getting new cars and had to survive on the stock they still had. In December 1927, the successor, the Ford Model A, was presented to the public. The dealers had already signed contracts for one million vehicles before the end of the year. It took until mid-1928 before production was fully restarted and people had their jobs back at Ford.
