Documentation

The Ferrari Testarossa was presented to the public in 1984. It is one of the most famous Ferrari models. The name Testarossa, like that of the 288 GTO, also released in 1984, refers to a prestigious model from the 250 series. The car was designed by Pininfarina and one of the features of the car that made it an icon of the 80s are the typical air slots in the doors, which were also used in later models. These are also known as 'egg slicers'. In addition, the Testarossa, along with the Ferrari 348 inspired by it, is one of the few models without the characteristic round taillights. This model is equipped with a twelve cylinder engine. A total of 7177 units of this model were produced. The 1984 and 1985 copies had one rear-view mirror, on the left, which was halfway up the A-pillar. In 1986, after several complaints from Testarossa owners, Ferrari decided to place the mirror in its usual position at the bottom of the A-pillar and also to place a rear-view mirror on the right. The Testarossa was the last 180°V 12-cylinder (lay flat) that Ferrari built in the 1980s to the present day and went through life under the names 512TR and 512M in the last delivered models. The Ferrari Testarossa owes its fame to the general public, among other things, due to the popular police series Miami Vice from the 80s in which it plays a prominent (main) role. The Testarossa offered here looks good overall. The paintwork has a nice shine and the interior also looks good except for a few minor imperfections. The Ferrari still has its original tool sets. The car has not been driven for quite some time, so it is advisable to give it a service. The car was produced in 1991, but only sold in 1994 by the dealer at the time. It appears that the car is equipped with a revised engine and gearbox and various other parts have also been replaced. The car is equipped with rims with a central wheel nut, but if desired an extra set of 5 hole rims with tires can be supplied at an additional cost of € 3000. This set is visible in the photos, but will not be included in the auction. To get a good idea of the car, we advise you to come to one of the viewing days.
