Documentation

There is not much to say about the Ducati 750 Sport other than that the factory used various parts from other current models such as the Ducati 750 Paso, Ducati 750 F1 and the new Ducati 851 to assemble this bike. The model has also been in limited production and was succeeded fairly quickly (1991) by the Ducati 750 SS, which makes the number of units produced very small. (Production total in 1989: 1,365 units). The air-cooled engine has a capacity of 748 cc. Furthermore, the four-stroke V-Twin Cylinder Desmodronic engine block is equipped with two valves per cylinder. The power of 72 HP (53 kW) is delivered at 8,500 rpm. The torque is set at 70 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine had a dry weight of 180 Kg and achieved (for that time) a top speed of approx. 210 Km/hour. The transmission takes place via a 5-speed gearbox that drives the rear wheel via a chain. For the rest, the motorcycle is equipped with the Marzocchi telescopic front fork, widely used by Ducati until the late 1980s, coupled to a Marzocchi monoshock as rear suspension, a Brembo braking system with double disc brakes at the front and a single disc brake at the rear. This 1990 model can be recognized by the red-colored frame, the cast aluminum partly red-colored wheels, but above all the full streamline that is executed in Red/Grey with a small window. At that time another model was issued in which the color gray was replaced by blue. The previous owner always maintained the engine technically himself, as he worked at TNO (as well as the 2 owners before him) and he believed that there was no better technical specialist than himself! The engine is largely in its original condition as it was at the time, only the previous owner has replaced the original (“blacked-out”) exhaust system with a BOS exhaust system for a heavier sound and has opted for the newer rectangular for streamline. mirrors instead of the round mirrors. However, with some detective work, this is quite easy to restore to its former glory. Over the years, given its age, the motorcycle has not been ridden much due to the fact that the previous owner owned several motorcycles. This low mileage of approx. 25,000 km can therefore be read from the overall condition of the engine. In addition to the standard documents, the motorcycle also comes with a complete Workshop Manual. In addition, an edition of Moto 73 in which the various "donor engines" as mentioned above are discussed. This Ducati SuperSport is an original Dutch delivered motorcycle which still has the original Dutch issued license plate. The Ducati 750 Sport is a heavily underrated motorcycle that hardly anyone notices. However, it is slowly moving up because people are now also aware of its scarcity. A (technically) well-maintained original copy in combination with a low mileage is therefore less and less offered on the market! This type of 750 Sport has been experiencing a steady increase in value for several years, which will only increase further in the coming years. A collectable that should not be missing in your collection. Runs, but may not be started due to belts. Please refer to the general auction information for more information.
