Documentation
The Kalmar-DAF (known in Sweden as Tjorven) was a van of the Swedish company Kalmar Mekaniska Verkstad. The Kalmar was developed for the Swedish Post Office and presented in 1968. The production models were built with DAF 44 technology: a polyester body with sliding doors was mounted on a tubular frame. The steering wheel was always on the right, in connection with the delivery of mail to mailboxes. All Kalmars had an air-cooled two-cylinder 850 cc boxer engine, which was also built in the DAF 44, and a Variomatic transmission from DAF. 2170 of the Kalmar were built, of which 1195 for the postal service, 588 for sale in Sweden and 368 for export, of which 50 to the Netherlands. Production was discontinued in 1972. This copy is in good, driving condition. The roof and cabin floor need cleaning. The sliding doors and large loading space make it a practical vehicle. The simple interior looks neat, but what appears to be the radio is missing. To get a good idea of the car, we advise you to come to one of the viewing days.
