The Caprice Classic was Chevrolet's flagship model in the 1970s, above the Impala. The convertible was made in the years 1973 to 1975. In total, approximately 20,000 units of the convertible were made, of which 8,349 units were from the 1975 model year. the eponymous film and TV series 'Flodder'. This Caprice Classic convertible is equipped with a 350 cubic inches 5.7 liter V8-Small Block, which was a special option at the time. The same engine has also served for years in the Chevrolet Corvette, among others. The car has been in the possession of the current owner, a collector, since 2009, who completely restored the car between 2009 and 2016. Nothing has been left to chance during the restoration and many parts have been replaced. For example, the rear screens have been completely replaced, the entire interior has been reupholstered, the car has received a new burgundy red carpet and the convertible top has been replaced with a new hood. Finally, in 2016 the body was given a new coat of paint in the original Classic White color. The old paint layer is first completely removed for this purpose. The original engine and the 3-speed automatic gearbox were completely overhauled in 2016. The engine is equipped with a new Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and a Summit (race) air filter, which has increased the power from approximately 170 hp to approximately 245 hp. The (electric) fuel pump and part of the wiring under the hood have recently been replaced. This 5.70 meter (19 ft) long, 2.03 wide and 1.38 meter high convertible is a unique appearance and one of the few full-fledged 6-seater convertibles that will ever exist.
