Documentation

In 1987, the Z1 was launched as a concept car at the IIA in Frankfurt. The 8000 (exact number!) copies were made by hand from 1989 to 1991. Initially, BMW wanted to produce 4000 Z1s, but due to demand, BMW increased that to 8000. Between 10 and 20 units were produced daily. The Z1 is a car in which BMW has incorporated a lot of new technology, which has later been incorporated into newer cars. It was the first car in the world to reach 1G cornering on standard tires. This was due to the innovations such as the mid-engine, the Z rear axle, the smooth floor and the wing shape of the rear muffler. The bodywork is special. It comprises a galvanized steel chassis on which plastic body panels are mounted. The doors open by sliding down and are not part of the load-bearing part of the body. The Z1 was designed by the Dutchman Harm Lagaay, who became head designer at Porsche after designing the Z1. The engine is taken over from the E30 325iX, a 6 line, 2.5 liter with 171 hp and 218 Nm. This allows the Z1 to reach a top speed of 225 km/h and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.8 seconds. The Z1 offered here has only had 1 owner. He bought the car new in Germany. In 2006 he came to the Netherlands more as household goods. It is in a beautiful condition, has always been stored indoors and has only driven 32024 km. This is demonstrable by the available documentation. The original purchase invoice is also included. The car has had all its maintenance. The distribution has been done 3 times. It has no damage history and everything is original, including the paint. The underside is occasionally tectylated. The original sticker of the careful driving-in is even still on the inside of the windscreen. To get a good impression of the car, we advise you to come to one of the viewing days.
