Documentation

A rare Alpina B10 V8S Limited Edition, one of only 50 built.

Model history Alpina B10

The third generation of the Alpina B10 was built as a Touring and Saloon based on the BMW E39 (a total of 2,312 units, of which 239 were diesel D10s, 576 6-cylinder 3.2 and 3.3).

The basic engine for the 8-cylinder was the engine from the 540i, which was increased in capacity to 4.6 and 4.8 liters by bore the engine block and other modifications. The output was 347 or 375 hp.

188 units of the B10 V8S were produced, 43 of them Touring and 145 Saloons. Within the production period, the so-called 88-series, the Nicole Limited Edition, was launched. In the end, only 49 of the planned 88 vehicles were built. This vehicle is no. 29.

It was built from 2002 to May 2004.

The Limited Edition is technically identical to the regular V8S.

Technical data

The 4.8 liter engine of the V8S has an output of 375 with 510 Nm torque. The sedan can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. The official top speed is 284 km/h. The unladen weight of the vehicle is 1,765 kg.

A special feature is that Alpina developed the forerunner of the SMG gearbox, so that shifting is possible at the steering wheel when the selector lever of the automatic gearbox is set to manual (5-speed forward).

The dimensions are identical to the regular E39 saloon, resulting in a compact and agile car just under 4.78 meters long.

Real fuel consumption per 100km is around 13 liters with moderate driving.

History of the car

Like all Nicole Edition cars, this V8S was destined for the Japanese market and was delivered there.

The base vehicle rolled off the production line at the Dingolfing plant on 31 May 2002. The original VIN was WBADN61050GG92459. The vehicle then went to Alpina in Buchloe where it was rebuilt and then taken to Japan for sale. The first registration was on October 14, 2002.

The maintenance receipts from Japan are complete, so that the maintenance history and the mileage are verifiable.

The vehicle was exported to the Netherlands in 2019 before being registered in Germany in December 2019. There are German papers for the vehicle.

To determine the number of real owners is not possible without translation of the papers. The last real owner will be from Japan, as the registrations in the Netherlands and Germany have so far only been to dealers/exporters and importers (by the day).

Condition of the vehicle

The vehicle is in excellent general condition. The interior corresponds to that of a year-old car. The bodywork of the vehicle is completely in its original condition. This means that there are stone chips on the bonnet, but no scratches or damage to the bodywork.

Front and rear apron have been painted. The boot member was exchanged for a European one (new part).

Technology and electronics work perfectly.

There is no maintenance backlog, all wear parts still have sufficiently long lifetimes.

The tires have approx. 4mm tread on the VA and 3.5 on the HA. They date from 2016 and 2017 respectively and are made by Michelin.
